The first day of Spring is on Saturday. D has been looking forward to it for a long time. He thinks that all the bugs that have been "hibernating" are going to magically appear on Saturday (even the wasps). The weather has been up and down - to be expected in March - but on the good days we have been taking full advantage of being outside. And it's kind of a nice break from 24/7 crafting. The boys love to be outside, especially Lieutenant. If you even mention the word "outside" in passing, he gets his mini-hustle on and is off to the laundry room to get his shoes and jacket. D gets a little nervous about the wasps, but still likes to play in the sandbox and race with Paul (and Lieutenant) across the lawn. One nice day I took some pictures of the kids.
Check out how happy they are to be outside:

On a walk around the block, Lieutenant gathered up as many of these as he could manage to carry and brought them all home (with some help from me and D). I don't know what his plans were for them, but they are still in the same pile outside.
Holding a treasure, spotting an airplane, making appropriate airplane noises
Doesn't look like a super happy face, but he loves playing in the sandbox.
So does he. And he needs a haircut. Bad. Can you tell??
One of his favorite things to do outside is color on the sidewalk with chalk. I'm glad it rained tonight so next time we go outside we'll have a clean palette.
D made me an ice cream cone - wolf, deer, and I think mountain lion flavor.
I look forward to spending lots more days outside with these guys.

Well, I think D is going to enjoy the UP CLOSE AND GROSS magnifier we mailed today, plus another bug book so he can examine all those creepy crawly critters.
Super cute! You and Paul make cute babies. Can't wait to see what the next one looks like!! :-)
Pictures too adorable!
