Animal Habitats

We got this in the mail from Nana and Papa last week (just in time since we are currently in the middle of a crafting frenzy):

This is a really cool book and D just loves it (he even took it to school for show-and-tell). It teaches about various animal habitats and also has tons of crafts that go along with the habitats. It's fun.

First we made a paper plate cottonmouth snake.

After I took some pictures of D with the snake I noticed that the Lieutenant had been standing by him the whole time with his camera smile on.

He liked the snake better as a hat.

Then we made a clothespin snapping turtle.

And of course some food for it to eat. That's right - a snapping turtle will eat a bird. I don't know how it could catch a bird!

Then we made this lovely raccoon mask. It kind of looks more like a Husky or wolf, but when Paul saw it the first thing he said was "nice raccoon mask", so that made me feel better.

Now that Lieutenant has it on it really looks like a dog. The binky sticking out the bottom of the mask looks like a tongue.

And then we made a fan bald eagle. D loves this bald eagle.

He spent the entire afternoon running around the family room so the eagle would fly.

Thank you Nana and Papa! We probably won't have any paper plates left next time you come visit!
