The luck of the Irish
D and I have been doing a lot of crafts lately. A lot. And he is loving it. D is especially excited about any craft that involves paint, glue, or glitter (or any combination of the three). He likes the messes. We have been doing mostly St. Patrick's Day crafts with a few other random ones mixed in (footprint penguins, handprint butterflies, a nest of baby birds, stuffed felt animals, a "piggy bank" and "money" for Lieutenant, and I'm sure there are others I forgot about). Most of our little projects get destroyed fairly quickly, but that is just part of the deal with a rambunctious toddler running around. (I try to prep D ahead of time about how things are probably going to get crushed - so far there have been no meltdowns due to crafts being "de-managed".) And D is actually always really excited to show Lieutenant his stuff first thing after Lt. wakes up from his naps.
Lots of shamrocks
A leprechaun (painting a paper plate is always good times)
Twins! Or not.
And then we made a snake out of all the shamrocks we cut out. D is trying out the snake tongue to make sure it's going to work.
Yup, it worked.
I didn't take a picture, but we also cut out and colored a little leprechaun (named Lucky, of course) that I hide around the house every day for D to find. He thinks it is fun. I told him that on St. Patrick's Day when he finds Lucky that there might be a treasure too. He's pretty excited about that. But not as excited as he is for the first day of spring. Oh, and doesn't the time change this weekend? I can't remember if that is good or terrible (as far as kids' schedules are concerned)...

Craft projects, huh. Then the two of you are going to love the surprise that Nana and Papa mailed today.
