Pillows and Pumpkins

Last week rocked! Nana and Papa AND Uncle Jeff all came to visit. When we get together, we are always going non-stop. There are so many things to do and so little time! This trip was no exception. We shopped every day. We cooked every day (Nana graced us with homemade pizza and HEAVENLY peach pies!). We danced and played trucks and read books every day. D also had plenty of time to show Nana and Papa and Uncle Jeff all of the new things he's learned since he saw them last (Tarzan, muscles, playing the harmonica and kazoo, his newly-acquired love for Clapton, the Hokey Pokey, etc.).

Nana and I spent a lot of time on the sewing machine (as usual I had tons of projects waiting) and made some fabulous new pillow covers (pictured below).

While the sewing machine was out, we also made D some beanbags. We thought it would be fun to cut a little hole in a box for D to throw the beanbags into...he had other ideas about what would be fun...

Did you know that a pumpkin is actually a berry??!? Yes it is! Better Homes and Gardens said so! Now, for the real pumpkin news - me, Paul, and Jeff went to a Smashing Pumpkins concert! Yes, they are a band again (kind of) and they actually had a venue at UVSC! Were the stars aligned for this one or what...a band we never thought we'd be able to see in concert AND they were going to be performing a mere 10 minutes away?? Perfect (no pun intended)! The concert was so awesome (minus the part where they played some serious heavy metal for like 15 minutes straight - it was so loud and long I thought I was going to throw up...seriously...). Here is a clip of the show if there are any Pumpkins fans out there. Also here's a clip of the show we got when we got home. I guess D and Nana and Papa were partying all night too!

LUCKY! I just heard they came. Boo. I saw them in '94 at Lollapalooza (back when it was worth going). Thanks for the clip... it took me back. (Although, since noone around me is smoking "the pot" right now *wink wink* I feel like it wasn't the same for me... hee hee!)
