Nono turns two

We sure had a fun day celebrating Nono's second birthday at the end of June. As far as the traditional birthday events go, we started off the day with the mandatory trip to Toys'R'Us for the complimentary birthday balloon and crown and also to spend Nono's generous gift card (three dollars) from Geoffrey the Giraffe. Following that outing were a nap, cake, and presents - best documented with pictures (except the nap).

The big brothers decided that Nono would love a snake birthday cake. Done.

I'm trying to remember when this stops being super weird and confusing for kids (you know...lights off, an open flame on top of your food, people singing loudly at you...).

Nono did a good job blowing out the candles! And then he tried to eat the candles while they were still smoking (don't worry - mission unsuccessful).

While I was trying to get the snake finished up, Lt was in the kitchen literally every two seconds asking if it was ready yet. It was driving me bonkers!! The boy loves his treats. When it was finally ready, he insisted on eating the snake's head, and there was no resistance from D (who wouldn't touch it anyway) or Nono (who had no idea what was even going on anyway). So once he was served up I'm not so sure he knew exactly how to go about eating it...which made for a super awkward picture!!

That's better, buddy. Just lick the frosting off.

And here's good ol' reliable D, only eating ice cream.

 

Confetti? Check. Lots of presents? Check. Happy baby? Check. (Except I don't think he's a baby anymore...)
