Welcome home; it's been a busy week

We have had a fun, overwhelming, busy week with lots of missed naps in celebration of a special occasion - Uncle Jon came home from his mission!

On Wednesday we went to the airport to greet Uncle Jon as immediately upon his departure of the airplane as legally possible. We ended up waiting an extra hour or so for him to arrive, which wouldn't have been so bad without little ones in tow! Oh well. After D got a little more comfortable with the hustle and bustle of the airport, he had a good time watching the planes take off and running around with his cousin (accompanied by an adult, of course). Up the escalator; down the escalator. Up the elevator; down the escalator. Up the escalator; down the elevator. This, I'm sure, was the highlight for the kids. The grownups were not only excited about the escalators, but also about welcoming home Jon! Watch out ladies - he's back!!

The Orgeon cousins were in town for almost a whole week, which was awesome! D seriously loved having them here. He had so much fun screaming, dancing, playing, and just being silly with them. Whenever the cousins weren't in sight, he would do his familiar "Where are they?" shrug and look around for them. I think the cousins liked D too!

One day we visited the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point (forgot the camera). We weren't planning on going there, but stopped en route in an attempt to keep D awake for the remainder of a trip home. It worked! He had a great time and was completely fascinated with everything in the museum.

Another day we made a short trip up Provo Canyon to hike to Bridal Veil Falls. Actually, nobody really hiked...the boys all rode skateboards and the girls pushed strollers...hmmm... D had a marvelous time throwing rocks and playing in the water. He was very sad to leave.

And yet another day, we went to the Gateway Mall so the kiddies could play in the water fountains at the Olympic Legacy Plaza (or whatever it's called). D really didn't do much playing in the water. I thought he'd be more excited about it since he is so addicted to water lately, but I think he was a little intimidated by all the screaming kids and the unpredictable geysers. Cousin Mimi, however, had enough fun for the both of them.

And so our adventures end. Little D will be so sad when he wakes up tomorrow and there are no cousins to play with. Move to Utah already!!

I can't believe he is home? I remember when he left, it has NOT been two years. Okay, maybe it has. But seriously, that is craziness. Time to savor the present because the future is biting our heels.

WOW that was a long time ago!! And just for the record, I did NOT cry my eyes out at the airport... OK so that is a complete lie.
