Reunited and it feels so good

We went down to southern Utah for the annual family reunion last weekend but made a slight detour for a small reprieve at my parents' house first (not to imply that the family reunion is synonymous with impending punishment or a death sentence...not really...well, kind of...just kidding mom!).

Our 1.5 days in the blistering sun of Caliente were fantastic and D couldn't have loved it any more (well, maybe if there had been a dog or two). He found bugs in the yard with Grandpa, read books with Grandma, went to the park, played in the yard with the cats and sprinklers (not at the same time), and even got to see a real train just feet in front of him at the depot. After the train was gone he kept doing his little shoulder shrug with his hands up asking us, without words of course, "Where did it go?". I wished I could've made 10 more trains drive through right then for my little man because he loved it so much!

The family reunion was held this year in the beautiful mountains of Cedar City (think Brianhead/Cedar Breaks). It was a little chilly and rainy for a bit, but that didn't stop D from having a grand time. While he did see some creepy bugs and some freakishly huge ants, he preferred playing with Paul down in the stream and returned a wet and muddy and happy boy. To top it off, he got to take a few swings at the pinata before the big kids tore it apart!

On the way down to Caliente, D slept most of the way. This next picture pretty much sums up our trip back home...boy were we all glad to get out of the car!

dang what happened to the days when our boys would sleep as soon as the car started moving? Aiden has taken to screaming if we're in the car for long periods of time...he gets bored....so weird!

I am assuming the little guy is screaming, but it kinda looks like he is laughing. If only...

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I needed to hear them. It is so true. Yesterday Liam and I went on a "date" and it was sad knowing he will have to share the attention very soon. Such a weird mix of emotions.

Is Paul camera shy or what? Ang - grab that Canon by the lens and do some point and shooting of Mr. Barker. You can run but you can't hide Pablito14.

Let me also comment on the blog's trickery. Is that Ang's mom, twin sister, or just an experiment at the local hair salon? I for one did a quadruple take.

Dudes - Davis is a freakin giant. I leave for 18 months and you give your kid growth hormones or what? I feel a little left out on watching that rascal grow up and puke all over his father, so please book a few tix to PDX tomorrow.

YOUR BLOG ROCKS!!! CUTE KID!
