Tell us how you really feel...

We figured that since we had so much fun at the pediatrician's office yesterday, we may as well go to the dentist today! D had his six-month checkup with the dentist in January, and everything was okay, but his teeth have just been looking progressively worse since then. So we took him in this morning thinking we would have six or seven cavities filled while we were there. The only cavity the dentist found was where a previous filling had actually fallen out, so it was a quick fix (unless you're three years old and listening to D scream while you're waiting for your turn like this poor little boy who had his appointment after us). So why do his teeth look so terrible? It turns out, they are just unreal stained from getting too much iron in his diet!! The dentist said we should talk to our pediatrician about it and that after we cut the iron back, his teeth should return to a normal state of appearance in about six months. He polished D's teeth up really good before we left though and so they are looking 100% better. I'll have to do some investigation to see where all the iron is coming from...could it just be from his nightly bowl of rice cereal????

I think this picture really sums up D's true feelings about the dentist and toothbrushing in general...

Seriously where is the iron coming from?? What a mystery! How is your weaving coming along???

Toooo funny! The only thing that motivates our daughter to brush her teeth is that she saw an old woman on AFV whose teeth fell out. We told Haddie that was because she didn't brush them. :-)

Aiden doesn't like his teeth being brushed unless I show him the "baby" on the toothbrush. He has the same one D does :)

More often than not I forget to have him brush his teeth...how horrible am I?

Keep us updated on what's going on...funny that the day before you had an iron blood test done and it was fine. I'm interested to see what is happening. I also wish I had an idea about what he can eat but I'm new at this parenting thing. :)

Your blog is great, I really enjoy it, you're a pro. Tell Paul hi for us!
