Felt fun

A couple of weeks ago I was feeling very creative (no comments, Tasha) and decided to make D a felt board...cheap and easy entertainment for the kid! I started with shapes for now but have very lofty plans for many other felt-themed good times. D seems to still have fun with the board even though it's been around for a while, and he especially digs the stars. So here are some pics of D having a felt fiesta (he looks ecstatic, I know):

I wanna know, too! I'm dying to take it one step further and make little scripture figures so I can have visuals during FHE!

well my friends, not to blow my crafty cover, but a monkey could make a felt board (but probably not the scripture figures).

1- cut some cardboard to your desired size (i will use foam board for my next one - $1.40 at the craft store for 20"x30" and a more 'finished' look)
2- buy felt to cover board and many different-colored felt squares (i even found animal print felt squares!), fabric glue, and possibly fabric paint
3- cut felt to cover the board and glue on
4- cut the felt squares to be whatever you want them to be (shapes, ABC's, animals, etc.)
5- optional: use fabric paint to decorate or to make faces on animals, windows on cars, etc.

DONE!

also, in my felt research online, i found that a lot of people were using characters on paper (people, etc.). i don't know if they were coloring them or if they just printed in color or what, but they then laminated them and glued a felt backing on the laminated figure so it would stick on the board. WOW!

HOLY CRAPOLY. I love this! You are one freaking amazing woman my friend. Forget inside out quilt blankets, you have completing all creativity required out of one woman. I am definitely putting this on my to-do list.
