Pumpkin painting

In an effort to include Lt in more of our family traditions, this year we decided to paint the little boys' pumpkins instead of carving them. Paul and I were still going to carve ours so the kids could help out, but Paul's pumpkin was rotten so we just carved mine (and by "we" I mean Papa).

D didn't let a raging case of pink eye slow him down...he painted a super pumpkin!

Lt had so much fun. He was so excited to do anything that involved the pumpkins. Well, almost anything (see below)...

Of course painting pumpkins works much better if you're standing up. And wearing matching track pants.

So I was holding No-no and Paul was completely uninterested in carving a pumpkin (the World Series was on after all), so Papa took the reigns. We rounded up Lt so he could experience his first pumpkin carving. After the top was cut off he put his hand in, touched one seed, and didn't want anything to do with it. I mean, he wanted to keep watching Papa clean it out, but he did not want to touch the slimy pumpkin guts which was completely surprising to me because the kid has touched a lot worse!! Thanks to Papa, the one and only carved pumpkin turned out great (I can't believe we didn't take a picture of it) and looked even better on the porch with a strobe flashlight inside. Happy Halloween!
