Chocolate spider

In honor of Halloween, D made a festive little spider at preschool out of a chocolate donut. Oh, and he would be beside himself if I didn't mention that the eyes were white chocolate chips. I'm guessing the legs were licorice, but who really knows. When D brought it home he hid it on my bed and I pretended to be scared when I saw it and pretended like I was going to smash it. Boy did he love that. He was super excited to eat it and was really getting on my case about hurrying up and getting lunch ready. Well, as usual, Lt was done eating first. So we dissected the spider into four equal parts (D is good at sharing with his brother) and Lt gobbled his half of the spider up. He really, really wanted to eat the rest of it and the only way I could fend him off was by offering him a cookie. Well, when D finally finished eating his lunch (Lt was in bed for his nap at this point), he attempted a bite. A microscopic bite. Maybe he just licked it. Either way, he did not like it and didn't want it. He ended up eating a cookie. Paul ended up eating D's half of the spider (don't tell Lt). And did I mention that on the way out of preschool D accidentally dropped the spider on the ground?? Paul said it was only there for two seconds and as good as new. I can't believe I agreed to let them eat it. Totally against my character. Let's not talk about it any more.

Looking at D, I don't know if I can tell the kid spider apart from the chocolate spider!

How did I know he wasn't going to eat it? ;)
