D graduated from preschool. It's happening - he's growing up. Ugh! I can't believe he's going to be starting Kindergarten. I keep telling him he doesn't get any more birthdays because I don't want him to grow up. He is not a fan of this plan. I'll have to re-strategize.
D's graduation was so awesome! First let me say that Paul and I were both skeptical about whether or not D would actually participate in the graduation ceremony this year or not. But he seemed pretty optimistic whenever we talked to him about it, so we were anxious to see!
Here's Lt - very excited to see big brother! In addition to mom, dad, and his little brothers, D's cheering section included Grandma Barker, Aunt Maygan, and Uncle Jeff!
Okay, when we walked in he was sitting in the front with his little classmates! Woohoo! He came and sat with us for a few minutes before the program started, but when it was time to start, he went back and sat with his class! Woohoo! (There really aren't enough exclamation marks for what a big deal this was.)
The kids started off singing a cute little Pledge of Allegiance song and patriotically waving little flags. Check out this picture...YEP - D IS ACTUALLY SINGING! Woohoo!! Go D!!!
After the song, all of the kids took turns sharing a "talent". Very cute. Talents ranged from writing to bouncing balls to remembering addresses to counting (and everything in between). The kids all helped each other decide what talents to share - isn't that fun? D's talent was counting to 100 by 10's and by 5's. And he got up in front of everyone and did it. WOOHOO!!! You can't really hear him in this video, but look - he got up in front of everyone and did it! Go D!
Then the kids came in one at a time with their graduation "hats" on and their teacher took a few minutes talking about each kid and then presenting them with their certificates (and I am pretty sure I shed a few tears). It was so great. We couldn't have asked for a better teacher or preschool experience for D. Perfect! Look at that face!
Here's the graduate, post-graduation.
