Christmas at last

Christmas posts are always such a bummer to actually do (don't get me wrong, re-living Christmas is always awesome - I'm strictly talking about the technicalities of posting it on the blog here as being a bummer). I have to go through tons of pictures and try to pick less than 50 to post (feels next to impossible). Then I have to name them all and format them for the web. Then I am burned out and don't want to do anything at all, least of all write a big narration about how great Christmas was and how much fun the kids had and how they got way too many presents. Because it's always great and special and fun and the kids always get spoiled. I guess the only thing noteworthy about this Christmas was that we had church at 9:00 a.m. Needless to say, we can barely get to church by 9:20 on any other Sunday, so opening presents on Christmas morning before church was completely out of the question. Now just imagine two little boys sitting reverently through a long, boring (for kids) Christmas program when they knew all their presents were waiting for them as soon as church was over. You can't imagine it? Well, it went something like this (in between the laughing and other loudness) : "Mom, is it over yet? Mom? Mom, is it time to go home? Mom? Mom, how much longer? Mom? Mom, can we go now? Mom?" Bear in mind those little questions were being asked nonstop for 90 minutes.

This candy cane took him three weeks to eat. And he didn't even actually finish it. I got sick of looking at it and threw it away.

Snacks win out over all the other stocking goodies.

Nono agrees.

Getting a little help from big brother

Yes, make sure there is absolutely nothing left in there.

We've played this about 6,000 times.

A little scarf from Mom

Dinomorphs for the win

"I don't care whose it is; I'm going to open it."

Seriously though, Dinomorphs for the win

Just happy and excited - my cute little guy

I love his face. He is trying to conceal his emotion. He likes the stuffy monkey.

Nono showing me the Dinormorphs

This got the most mileage on Christmas day and actually for many days after. All the boys wanted to pound on it. What? It's a baby toy? Nobody cared.

The quintessential Christmas face

Why is it that the baby is the one who gets to play with his toys the least? My kids are having a blast with all of Bennett's birthday toys!

But seriously, every time you post pictures I think of how fun it must be to live at your house! You are the kind of mom I want to be, but am too lazy to actually follow through on. :) Merry Christmas!

Hey, you beat me! I haven't even looked at my Christmas pictures yet. I am actually online preparing my July 24th post...no time like the present, right? ;)

I love your pictures and you, my friend. I miss your cute boys and I must agree, the baby toys are always a hit. Poor Emerson can't even look at his toys because X rips them right out of his hands. Thanks for inspiring me to keep going...maybe by July I will be caught up to Christmas.

Thanks for making me smile.
Love ya, Ang!
