Actually, it's super easy to lose your focus when you look outside and see a squirrel taking up residence inside your grill. 
Here is the painted bird feeder! We decided to do brown and green so it would camouflage nicely in the tree.
Then we hung it in the tree (camouflages nicely, don't you think?). Then about two minutes later our old pal scrub jay stopped by for a taste of that wheat bread he's been craving since last fall (or whenever it was that we last put food out there). I think he's the only one that likes bread because he's the only one I've seen frequenting the feeder. Maybe I should get seeds to attract some new feathered visitors (not that there's anything wrong with the scrub jay...). Also (and for future reference), it was not a great idea to paint the bird feeder with the boys' paints vs. the tole paints we used last year. All it took was one nice summer shower and our lovely painted bird feeder instantly returned to a plain old juice carton. Oh well, the birds don't care, right?
