When the Saturday weather forecast was rain and/or snow, we rescheduled our egg hunt for Sunday. Well, it didn't rain or snow Saturday, and Sunday morning we woke up with snow on the ground! Well, the snow melted pretty quickly and so we continued on with the scheduled afternoon egg hunt, only I had to go dig out the kids' snow clothes. Granted, the snow clothes probably weren't necessary since it wasn't that cold (as everybody repeatedly told me) and the snow was mostly melted, but I mainly wanted to keep Lieutenant dry because I was certain that he was going to fall down amidst all the excitement...
Snow boots - check. First egg of the hunt - check.
Lieutenant caught on very quickly. First egg! (Somehow he ended up with all of the hard-boiled eggs and D got all of the plastic eggs with jelly beans.)
And after all my fussing, D (without snow pants) was the only one who fell down.
But don't worry - he was back in the game within seconds. Eye on the prize, buddy!
Scanning the yard for more eggs
For some reason, after all the eggs were discovered, this was the level of enthusiasm and excitement.
After a minute we got some smiles.
And then we made them go inside (nap time!), and one little guy was very unhappy...
