Our science experiment

Aside from the clever dinosaur books that D got in his October book order, he also got the First Encyclopedia of Science. He really thinks it's cool. So do I. So does Paul. Snacks is indifferent. And my favorite part about the book is that it has some pretty simple science experiments in it for kids to do.

When Uncle Jeff was visiting, he and D decided to try one of the experiments. It was a huge success. And it taught us about density. D learned that an egg will sink in tap water and float in salt water. It's science.

Two glasses of tap water = two sinking eggs

He's pretty excited about starting the experiment.

Remove eggs and add salt to one glass. Lots of salt.

Getting ready to put the eggs back in. Don't squish it, D!

Back into the tap water - sinks again

Now for the salt water...

What?! It floats!? Check out how stoked D is on the floating egg - he is mini-clapping!

Yup, still floating. Yup, still not floating.

That's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time, especially the looks on D's face.

He has such a cute happy face! And PS... that last picture makes him look like a big boy. Your little guy is growing up... sniff sniff. What a great book!

Oh and the head covering is just warm blankets from the operating room. You've never had them?!!!!!! My anesthesiologist wraps me up in them when we're done with the c-sections. They cover you with them and surround your head and it is just divine. It totally helps with the shakes. I still get them coming off the epidural but it's not the huge body tremors that they could be. Very nice! After your next baby (hee hee!!!) you should ask for these after the birth if they don't offer them to you. They.Are.Cozy!

Wait just a minute! It's not enough to just BUY the book, but you actually have to DO the experiement? Oops.
