So one warm afternoon we picked these...
Do you think we got enough (it's about four layers thick)? D sure didn't. I think hewould have picked our tree bare given the opportunity and a very tall ladder.
And then using two pairs of scissors, a piece of cardboard, about half of a bottle of Elmer's glue, some big heavy books, and one paperclip, we made this...

And we hung it here...

And darn it all, we think it's beautiful! I don't know how long it will be beautiful before it turns crunchy and brown. Maybe it will still be beautiful then? Actually, I'm not so sure how long it will stay on the door. It's not the sturdiest construction. I think a little gust of wind might be its demise. Oh well, at least we have a picture of it at it's prime.
We also stuffed some of the leftover leaves (yes, there were some left over...like six) into this glass and put D's pumpkin he got at preschool on top because we didn't know what else to do with it. Please, all of you official craft-y people, try not to pass out from all the cardinal craft rules (of which I am unaware but am sure exist) that were broken during our attempts to fashion fall crafts. Oh...gotta run...I think Martha Stewart is calling!

Hey, wanna make one for my front door? I love it! And my front door is awfully bare!
All I can say is "WOW!!" I am super impressed. Maybe if you added a little modge-podge to it, it might make it a little sturdier. Then again, that might be a little too much craftiness for you. =)
Um that wreath is GORGEOUS! That is all.

It's truly GROOVY. What a great project!
That is so cool! I love it and might have to go make one of my own. Seriously, it looks like something you purchased. Great job!
That looks truly beautiful. I hope it last forever. Maybe you can dip it shelack or something so that it is forever bright and lovely! How's Martha doing? ;-)
