Do you like Paul's protective eye wear? Seriously. He doesn't wear glasses. It was his eye protection.
D with his snacks (not Snacks) watching the action from the "chair fence" (that was constructed because of Snacks).
Getting close to the end!! Too bad the worst was yet to come - the top row where all of the tiles had to be cut. The math worked but somehow the tiles didn't...
This is as close to a finished picture as I'm going to get. I never remember to take a picture of the final product, but since it has been done for a couple weeks I need to just get it documented here so I can delete the folder off my desktop already! Please imagine that there is a nice charcoal grout (which will happen some day) and also imagine a lovely matte black fireplace cover (that actually is there). Also imagine the relief of not having to grab Snacks every two seconds because all he ever wanted to do before this project was completed was to play on the fireplace "area" among the old sharp mortar, construction remnants, dirt, and spiders. If you turned your back for two seconds he would beeline straight for the fireplace. Imagine the joy of Snacks never going to the fireplace because now that he is allowed to he never wants to any more.

Is that true...Snacks is no longer interested in the fireplace?? How funny! It looks great, by the way. Is Pablo for rent??

The Barkers have done it again! Good work, guys! You are making the Amonetts look bad though, light a fire under that husband of mine, will ya? Miss you guys. Let's get together soon so I can check out Pablo's newest Picasso.
