So the next morning we (me, Paul, and my mom) woke up way too early and managed to make it to the hospital at about 6:20 - a major accomplishment. I got all prepped for surgery, got my spinal block, and shortly thereafter little B-boy made his debut with lots of crying. The surgery itself went well; the only part that gave me the willies was when I was getting "sewed" back up...not because it hurt, but it was just a weird, weird feeling. I think I noticed it more this time because I wasn't as out of it as I was when D was born.
Our hospital stay was fine. It's kind of comforting to have somebody checking on you all the time to make sure you are okay. But I think for both Paul and me, by day four we were definitely ready to go home. All of the middle-of-the-night checks for me and baby were getting a little exhausting (and what's the deal with "housekeeping" coming in to get our trash at like 5:00 every morning?). And we really, really, really, really missed D. Oh, and the food...not so good. One thing that was good-different with this hospital stay was having B-boy with us in our room! Poor little D spent his first few days without us (for the most part) in the Level II Nursery. We were so happy that B-boy was healthy and could be with us (even though we did have some long nights...).

Recovery this time has been a completely different story than with my first c-section. All of you were right - it has been MUCH BETTER. The difference has actually been night and day...and I am SO thankful for that. After all the drama with D's birth I was really, really nervous about this go around. I mean, it' not like I'll be running a marathon any time soon (not that I would actually run a marathon anyway), but at least I'm not still bed-ridden! WOOHOO!

I'm glad to hear it was better this time around. See, you're a freaking pro now!!! And look how cute your little guy is, I can't even stand it. When can he come play??
I'm glad #2 c-section went better! I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am, for Matthew's c-section but guess what--no doc, they told him 7:30 am---nice eh? Luckily he didn't live far and made it in time to still have him delivered a bit after 7:30, instead of 9 or something!
Glad things went so much better this go round, and good job growing that baby! He sure is a cutie!
