Survival mode

For all who thought my lack of blogging was due to a new arrival, you were wrong. I am still here. And so is my very large belly. The countdown is now in the single digits though, and I am finding more and more things that I need to get done. When my friend asked me if I was worried about going into labor before my scheduled c-section, I told her that I was more worried that I wouldn't get my floor mopped before my scheduled c-section.

So we have just been counting down the days. All of us in survival mode. I'm pretty uncomfortable (loosely translates to - don't feel like cooking, cleaning, playing, or moving; hence my lack of blogging and pretty much my lack of motivation in general). I actually do have my good days and my bad days. This week the good days are winning! I don't ask Paul how he's doing because between his list of things to do, my list, and entertaining D many, many hours out of the day, I would just rather pretend that he is doing great and is stress-free! I think D can sense something big is approaching; he's doing really well though. He just wishes I would get down on the floor and play with him more. I try. He has been really into fixing things lately. With real tools. Here are some pics of him fixing his "firetruck" with what else but pliers and a flashlight.

Maybe I'll think of some more exciting things to share between now and "the day" (like that I actually did get my floor mopped), but for now I just need to go eat some cookies...

This post brings a smile to my face. I love the eating cookies part. We're so excited for you guys. It's a hard time to have to wait but so fun to get to meet the little guy soon.
