Lt turns three

Lt started out his big day with a trip to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point (see previous post). It's pretty hard to top that. But after we got home, the boys and Nana made the traditional trek to Toys 'R' Us so Lt could collect his birthday crown and balloon and spend his $3 gift card he got in the mail from Geoffrey the giraffe. Then came the party...

Here is Lt getting ready to blow out his candles (this is his excited/embarrassed/nervous face - works for most occasions really).

Now he is really getting ready. I feel like now is a good time to explain (to myself...for future inquiries by myself...) why Lt was shortchanged and got a pan of brownies instead of a cool birthday cake this year. The first reason was that I didn't have time what with the dinosaur museum and cousins leaving and Nana and Papa coming. There was just no time! But I almost didn't make him any treat at all due to his diet over the previous 24 hours: for dinner the night before he had chocolate cake, followed by ice cream and popcorn and lollipops at the baseball game; for breakfast he had cold cereal, followed by an ice cream cone at the museum; for lunch he had french fries and root beer. Parenting at its finest.

And this what a $3 gift card to Toys 'R' Us will get you (if you're Lt).

Open it! Open it!

Meet Chip, the most played with birthday present of 2011.

There's the face! Can you guess what it means in this picture?

He loves this balance bike. And he is getting so good at it!

Happy birthday to our cute, spunky, silly, ticklish, loving, giving, friendly little boy. You are three! You bring so much light, love, and mischief to our home. It would be a boring place without you! We are so glad you belong with us. Love you goose!!
