D wanted to have a birthday party with a few friends this year. We obliged. He invited about six little friends and they had a good time. I think. The first item on the agenda was kickball. In the sprinklers. Because it was 95 degrees. Kickball was followed by a water balloon toss. Because it was 95 degrees. Then they congregated under the apple trees in the shade (because it was 95 degrees) and took turns trying to bring down the pinata. After the pinata was destroyed and they gathered up all the candy and pennies they could find (yup, pennies - is that still an awful "prize" for kids even if it's not Halloween??), we had ice cream cones (because D doesn't like cake, not because it was 95 degrees). Presents were last on the docket. Things went pretty smoothly for our first party! Enjoy the pictures!
