Wacky: Butterflies

March 14th was Learn About Butterflies Day. So we did. We read a butterfly book and learned some fun (and some boring) butterfly facts on the world wide web. We also decided that some day we are going to have a butterfly garden in our yard. Now for the fun stuff...

The boys had butterfly sandwiches for lunch. Lt asked for a butterfly sandwich for the next four days.

Then later in the afternoon they had butterfly snacks (we're pretty low-budget here). They loved them.

And then the boys made paper chain caterpillars. While I was changing No-no's diapers the boys hung their caterpillars upside down so they could turn into butterflies. Loved that.

Then we painted some clothespins so we could make beautiful tissue paper butterflies. Lt chose red and D chose yellow. They played with them for a very long time.

I'm not sure if they are flying their butterflies or practicing Tai Chi...

Why the heck do you send D to preschool when you have a full-blown preschool program taught by Miss Ang?? Can I send my kids to you for some fun arts & crafts? What a fun mom!

Yeah, Suz, got your own little program going there. You should charge yourself for the service. LOL

And I thought I was the queen of holidays! How do you know about Butterfly Day? Please share with me your master calendar and lesson plans. I have a serious case of "Mommy guilt" going on now. Thanks, Ang!
