Birthday, part two

Even though he didn't turn four until 3:25 pm, we started celebrating his birthday at the crack of dawn (9ish...).

Here's the birthday boy first thing in the morning. Very happy. I have about 15 pictures of him with this exact same smile.

There is a picture just like this of Snacks on his birthday, only with a green balloon. Wouldn't be a party without 30 trillion balloons and lots of streamers hanging from the ceiling fan.

After breakfast we headed to the coveted Toys 'R' Us so D could collect his birthday balloon and king's crown. Toys 'R' Us also gave him a wooden Thomas train on the house and he spent some of his hard-earned money (along with a coupon) and bought himself a new Lightning car. The stuff dreams are made of right there.

D was super surprised when I brought in his birthday ice cream cone (he actually does like ice cream...kind of...as opposed to cake...), complete with candle, and we all sang Happy Birthday to him (Nana, Papa, and Uncle Jeff arrived just in time for the festivities).

D got some really awesome gifts.

The beauty of being four is being totally psyched when you get Dixie cups for your birthday. And then being unreal stoked each and every time you use one.

Happy big four D! It's been an awesome 1,461 days! We love you little scooby-doo pumpkin head!

What a happy, cute kid! Happy Birthday to D. You guys are great parents!
If I haven't told you yet...I LOVE the list of "D Says". SO FUNNY! I crack up all the time reading them.

That is hilarious that he loved his Dixie cups so much! Someone gave my girls their own boxes of fruit snacks for their birthdays and they were so excited. And of course flipped out if anyone even asked for a pack! Happy Birthday D! (Can't believe he's 4 years old... geesh!)
