It might be a hundred years before we get our yard landscaped and squared away. That means that even though there has been space there hasn't really been a place for a garden. I tried container gardening last summer (or was it the summer before?) but it didn't really work. I really do like to garden (that doesn't mean I'm good at it) so I was super excited to see my Mother's Day gift was a 4'x4' garden box! Did you know you can buy an already assembled garden box (in lots of sizes)? and that the dirt is included? and they'll even plant it for you if you want (I didn't want)?
I put my cute little box in the back yard where the most sun hits and started planting my square foot garden. We have some tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupe, cucumbers, beans, onions, garlic (special delivery from Caliente), chard, and basil ALL in this unassuming space. I hope, hope, hope that it does good! (What? I have to water it??) D was as excited about the garden as I was and couldn't wait to get digging in the dirt and planting and watering. He is a super garden buddy.

that is so awesome! I had no idea they came preassembled like that, it's good to know for the future!
Oh my gosh, I love it! I want a garden so bad. Oh ya, and a yard to put it in. Your garden looks great; you'll have to keep us updated!
I love it!!! I didn't know they come like that either. Now I want one. Hmm, do you think they make them for the indoor gardener... j/k
Looks good! I'm debating whether or not to try that vertical thing. I don't know.
My garden is still alive - good sign! Hope yours does well!
I didn't know you could buy them like that either! I'm imagining a lovely fresh salad straight from the garden...mmmm. Too bad I can't keep anything alive! Keep us posted.
