Center stage

My family has done puppet shows for as long as I can remember. They were a staple at most family reunions. I don't know exactly how it all got started, but I remember it. My mom and dad still have all of the puppets we used to use (and a few new ones) and the Muppets soundtrack that we used to use as well (cassette tape only, people - they can't find a CD version anywhere). Well, when they came to visit last they brought the puppets so they could do a puppet show for D. He thought it was great. He laughed and he clapped. He requested encores. When the puppet show finally came to an end, D was dying to go behind the scenes (aka the couch) and join in with a puppet. So Nana and Papa were relieved of their duty (poor Uncle Jeff had to perform the entire night - it really does make your arms unbelievably tired) and D took over. The puppets jammed like they have never jammed before to the likes of Jimmy Eat World, the Killers, and CCR to name a few. D is really looking forward to the next time Nana and Papa come visit and bring the puppets!!

This is great! My sister and I developed a wildly elaborate puppet show for our sixth grade talent show. We didn't "make" it. I am disappointed to this day :(

I love it, I love it! I still love my homemade sock puppets, but have yet to get my kids super excited about puppet shows. What's the name of the Muppet soundtrack you used? I'm a HUGE Muppet fan - people laugh when I tell them that my favorite Christmas album is "A Christmas Together" with John Denver and the Muppets...but it's true! Who can resist Miss Piggy screeching "Fiiiiive goooold rings!"?
