Christmas begins/This one is for Tiff

Christmas music: check (106.5 playing in D's room as we speak, ha ha!)
Christmas lights: check (we don't need any because the neighbors have enough for the whole neighborhood)
Christmas countdown chain: check

This project took way longer than I thought it would. We used markers, stickers, papa and jeff's artwork, and glitter. Lots of glitter. The only way I could get D to pose with the chain (which he was utterly sick of by the time we were done) was to tell him to hold up three fingers (eight is close) and make a crazy face. Sigh.

Christmas stockings: check

These bad boys only took me 345 days to make, give or take a day. My crazy-talented friend, Tiff, made some very adorable quilted stockings last year. She somehow convinced me that I, too, would be able to make some of my own. So I set out, very determined. I picked out fabrics, busted out the sewing machine, stitched names, learned what binding was, etc. Well, on Christmas eve last year, I quit (half finished), put the sewing machine away, and didn't look at them again until a few weeks ago when aforementioned amazing friend came to visit. Out of the kindness of her heart, she took my sorry stockings home, sewed the fronts to the backs, stitched brother's name, and sewed the binding on them all (even two "extras" not pictured). Straight to heaven I tell you, that girl is going straight to heaven. Aren't they fabulous?

Next on the docket: Christmas tree, more Christmas music, Christmas decorations, more Christmas music, Christmas shopping, more Christmas music, and Christmas cards (why do I always wait until the last minute for this one?)

Your stockings turned out really cute. I'm bad, we still only have 2 stockings from our first year or two of marriage. I keep blaming it on the fact that we are never actually at our house for Christmas. One of these years...

So cute! Love them! What an awesome friend!

I haven't done anything Christmasy yet--in fact I still have pumpkins on my porch--

Oh, I love the stockings!!! Adorable! Did you say you have two extra?? How much do you want for them? LOL!

I've done most of my Christmas shopping but the majority of my projects are still in the beginning stages, ugh. And there is no sign of Christmas at our house yet...it just seems like so much work, and who has time for that?!

Love the stockings, Ang! You are in the presence of angels...what a great friend you have. I feel I should tell you that my house could use some angelic help. I unpacked my snowman collection only to have X decide that they would make better balls. He even pulled my heavy stocking hanger off the mantle...right on his head...so now the stockings are on the floor, I have a tree with only lights, and four Christmas candles on the mantle. What a pathetic year for decorating at the Amonett house!
