Valentine's Day sampling

We've started a book club. It is by invitation only...well, pretty much if you're a monkey you'll get in. Thanks to Nana and Papa for adding another member to the monkey club this Valentine's Day! Nana and Papa also sent D a Thomas the Train card. He calls it a book and wants to read it all the time. Really.

I got some very dainty tulips to brighten my day. Am I the only one who is not a fan of roses??

And for even more Valentine's Day sweetness (blah blah), I made these little beauties:

I got the recipe for these from Sweet Sista', which is a fabulous blog (her picture looks yummier than mine). I highly recommend checking out her recipes. I have used about four of her cookie recipes and they all turned out SO good (my dad claimed one was one of the best cookies he'd ever had, and the man has had a lot of cookies). I also used one of her brownie recipes when I was in a pinch and needed to make dessert for a big party that was less than three hours away. So there is my plug. I haven't been disappointed.

Hope everyone had a charming Valentine's Day!

Yummmm...I'm totally trying those bar cookies - or whatever they are - they look fabulous.

I'm also a tulip person, but I can enjoy a beautiful rose every once in a while. Did your hubbie spoil you with those pretty flowers for V-day? So sweet!

Your parents are so cute! And, D's book club rocks. Almost makes me wish I were a monkey! :)

I bought myself flowers for Paul, I decided I needed some and figured he wasn't going to be getting me any. And nope not roses either, I don't even know what they are. Monkeys are the best, I've seen somewhere on your blog a pic of HUG, so I'm glad you already have that one...there is also TALL with the same monkey.

Oh you're an awful person for linking that website! lol! Now of course I'm going to have to try making some of those cookies. And yes... not so much to roses (although, I'll take what I can get *wink wink*) but tulips are my absolute favorite!

I don't like roses at all (unless they happen to be orange, I can't resist anything orange!)

Really I love all blue flowers, especially delphinium, hydrangeas, and iris.
