The '07 Oregon installment, part II

Our drive to Medford took nearly four hours. D slept for about two, which was fantastic. The plan for the rest of the drive was to pop a couple of Baby Einstein movies in the portable DVD player for him. You can imagine my despair upon finding that the DVD player never got charged, so no movies. It wasn't that D was awful and screamed the whole time, it's just that he was bored and a little whiny. Every two seconds he was saying "mama" so he could show me his car, or show me his snack, or make a face at me, or point out a truck he saw, or just have me turn around. It's incredibly nauseating to turn around in a car every two seconds. Regardless, we made it to destination Medford in good spirits and just in time for a delicious Sunday dinner!

The next day, the moms took the kids to some sort of Discovery Center to play. There were a lot of fun things for the kids - a pretend camping site, grocery store, construction zone, kitchen, an art center, a theater, outside toys, and a toddler play area. This kept the kids busy right up until nap time and D loved it! Meanwhile, the boys went mountain biking. Six hours and a wicked sunburn (for Paul) later, they returned and we went to dinner at a fun little Mexican restaurant.

The following day held more adventure for the kids as we headed off to a park that had water fountains for the kids to play in. It was a bit chilly, but the kids enjoyed it all the same. We got some sweet action shots of D on the slides too looking like he's taking flight!

Our spare time was filled with bowling, more Mexican food, bike rides, and the kids' favorite - dancing. Here's a good picture of the kids "shaking their booties" and a picture of D and cousin Serena in the bike trailer:

D loves his cousins and had so much fun with them. He still talks about them every day. We can't wait to see them again! Here's one of my favorite pics of D from the trip taken by cousin Mimi:

Oh I love Oregon! How fun for you guys. I can't believe they got in the water. The Oregon water is cold all year round. Brave men! I lived in Salem for a year and loved how green it was. That was a long time ago, though. You know... the turn of the century... (2000... hee hee). Glad you're back safe.
