The good news and the bad news

D's appointment with the ENT doctor was today. Here's the good news as recorded in a letter to our pediatrician:

Ear: Auricle: normal. External canal: normal. TM: normal and mobile to pneumatic otoscopy. He does not have inflammation of either eardrum and both eardrums are mobile.

Everything is "normal"! This is great news and so the continued tube talk has been pushed to yet another future date (i.e. the next time he gets an ear infection). I was really afraid of this visit because D has been sick for the last five days (high fever, not sleeping, whiney, sorry appetite, rash). I was sure that the timely doctor visit would find another ear infection. So when the ears checked out it was just great, and it got even better - D didn't cry at all when the doctor was checking out his ears (he normally starts crying as soon as the doctor enters the room). But alas, the bad news has to accompany the good...D has strep throat. How in the world did he get strep throat???? Poor little guy. Seven days of antibiotics...hopefully only three or four of diaper rash.

This is a courtesy picture of D and Uncle Jeff for all of you who can't remember what Jeff looks like because you haven't seen him for so long (ha ha). I also think it's a cute pic because D looks so tall!

Poor D, hopefully this means he's building up immunities to all these sicknesses so that he'll be healthy all the time as an adult. Glad he doesn't need tubes!

Ang,

I had no idea you checked out my Some Like it Hot blog! I stopped doing it a couple of weeks ago because it got boring and I got lazy. Maybe I should start it up just for you :)
