He knows

No-no is at that lovely stage where anything he finds on the floor goes straight into his mouth. And he really does not like it when I stick my finger in his mouth to try to fish things out. So now if I spot him chewing on something suspicious, and he spots me spotting him, the second I start heading in his direction he hustles up and swallows whatever was in his mouth before I even take two steps. And he loves it. I'm pretty sure he thinks it's a game (and I'm also pretty sure he really hates when I stick my finger in his mouth). So he has consumed more stickers and miscellaneous crumbs under the table than I would care to admit. He's quick.

Now I can't remember why exactly I gave him this box of cereal. I think I was trying to just distract him for a minute while I was putting away groceries or something. I should have known better. I actually did know better but I thought I could beat him in the race (putting away groceries vs. eating a cardboard box). I lost. In this situation, however, I wasn't too distressed about his box consumption because I'm pretty sure the box tasted about the same as the cereal (no offense to the Sunflower Market, because I love it and shop there every week).

Check out the damage!

Yummy! I'll gather up some old boxes so that when you come down he'll have some snacks. Haha.

If I ever get trapped in a beaver's dam, I'll know who to call. No No is the poster child of self-reliance.
