And what would a party be without the decorations being turned into ninja headbands and other accessories (note the big bucket of golf balls in the background).
Little No-no was crawling around with a big green bow stuck to his rear end for the longest time. He sat on it and it just stuck there. I left that present for Paul to open. While we were doing our best to have a good time, the boys were having adventures of their own at the doctor's office. The doctor put some eye drops in D's eye and then turned on a black light which illuminated the scratches on his eye. Paul said it was super freaky. And he saw the scratches - three of them. So the doctor sent them home with a prescription for antibacterial ointment (like Neosporin for the eye) and instructions to return to the doctor on call in the morning for a follow up. (Side note - why do "emergencies" always seem to happen after hours and on the weekend??) He also gave them the hopeful news that eyeballs heal very quickly. So they came home, applied the ointment, and D went to bed. The next morning at the doctor's office the drops were put in his eye again and the black light was flipped on again. And the scratches were gone. What! Yep, they were gone. So Paul and the doctor messed around with the black light for a little while before they left (what better way to spend your Saturday?). We are so so thankful that his little eye is okay! And the total cost for the eye incident? Fifty dollars. We figured that we probably could've hired somebody to dig out the dang lilac bushes for that much.
Happy birthday Uncle Jeff! Next year we'll try not to have any incidents!!

Remember that one time when TH got a papercut on his eye? And it happened literally seconds before he went to the eye doctor? Wonder if that cost him $50.00.
Glad D is a-ok! What a little trooper!
