Tomato trees

The sole purpose of this picture is so that I can remember these tomato plants. They started out as rejects that wouldn't fit in the nice little garden box in the backyard. Paul took mercy on them (or something) and decided to plant them in the front yard as if they were intended to be part of the landscape. Okay, if you saw our yard you would see that some monstrous tomato plants right out in front might actually be an improvement. Anyway, the almost discarded tomato plants grew to be about twice the size of the pampered tomato plants in the backyard that were constantly watered and tended to. They used a little tree next to them as a tomato cage and then up and outgrew the tree. I think they were taller than me. Definitely taller than the little boys. Thank you tomatoes for growing so big and providing us with fresh salsa even though we hardly ever watered you and certainly never weeded.

That's insane! I didn't know tomato plants could get that big! There's nothing yummier than a home-grown tomato. We need to be neighbors.
