Three days

With a lot of incentive...

Some encouragement...

And even more incentive (including the "big boy" underwear not pictured)...

D has been officially wearing "big boy" underwear since Saturday. After one especially frustrating and unsuccessful day of trying to get him to sit on the potty all day, the very next day he was just ready to do it. He told us when he had to go, and then managed to wait until he was actually on his potty. From that day on he has been doing fantastic. I know, its only been three days, and they have not been 100% accident-free days (not D's fault really, mostly ours), but we are claiming victory.

Apart from loving all the surprises he has gotten for using his potty chair (that's right - and we're not ashamed), D is a BIG fan of the "big boy" underwear - the sports pack in particular. I think he wore all six pairs at various points during the day today. When he was sporting the football ones, he had to get out the footballs. When he had the soccer ones on, he had to kick around the soccer ball. And he wants to put the underwear on backwards so he can see the pictures (just like Charlie, Leigh!).

Next on the docket - moving the toilet into the bathroom (ha ha!). Maybe some day we will be able to actually get him to use his potty seat ON the big toilet too (no more potty chair cleaning!).

Can D please teach Colton some tricks? I love that D puts his underware on backwards to see the pictures, and plays the "sport of the day"...what a cute boy!

Charlie still wears it that way, even though he's been potty trained for about 2 months.

I'm all about the incentives. Charlie was only interested in being able to go to IKEA playland, but that worked. Yay for you guys!

Isn't it the greatest? Just in time for the new Barker too. Good timing Ang! I had to laugh when I read Leigh's comment. The ikea playground was Liam's one and only incentive to potty training. It worked though, he was pretty much trained in one day. Even though accidents, unfortunately, still grace this house.

love you guys

Way to go buddy! There is nothing harder and more emotionally trying for both you and kid than potty training. Aghhh! I'm glad that he's grasping it and I think the lil' potty is awesome! Dayne, being the great size that he is, was too big for that potty. There was no room to point "it" down while sitting, so we went strait to the big potty which had it's own issues. Dayne wanted to wear his backwards too. Underwear makers need to catch on to that and make the front more interesting for lil' tykes! PS do you know what you are having? When are you due? Are we friends? Let's get together!!!
