All the wonders...

Now that the weather is so beautiful, D loves going outside. ALL.THE.TIME. It's all he wants to do! We are lucky enough to live just a couple blocks away from a big park, so that's where we usually head when it's time to go outside, which is all the time. Now I want to detail why it takes 30 minutes to actually get to the park.

First D climbs up and down the porch steps three or four times and then proceeds to beat the you-know-what out of the shrubs in the yard with a ping-pong paddle.

Then, when he finally loses interest in the porch, we head in the direction of the park. The walk to the park is paved with many opportunities to run into the street and pick up dog poop disguised as rocks. I try to steer his attention away from those activities and focus more on the ants and spiders that are roaming around on the sidewalks.

Naturally, we have to stop every time an airplane or helicopter flies over so D can point, say "Whoa!", and make an airplane noise. This really slows down the trip since there is literally some sort of aircraft flying over every two minutes. And I should also mention that D waves at (or at least points to) every car, truck, bus, bike, dog, bird, or cat that he sees along the way.

When we do finally make it to the park D's favorite thing to do (besides throwing the bark ) is to go down the slides. He even dares to go down the big slide by himself!

Sometimes it's hard for me to wait for this little investigator to make his way to the park. He actually probably wouldn't even care if we went to the park at all; he just loves to be outside. Paul told me that I need to slow down and learn to enjoy all the wonders along the way just like little D does!

D is so cute! I love that he hits the bushes and points to everything along the way. Aiden loves parks too he begs for swings and slides all day long. The only difference is we have to drive and he thinks we aren't going to the park if I put him in the car, so he starts bawling while I put him in the car begging for swings! crazy kids....

I think Paul has some great advice. At least I know that I need to do that a little more often. You've gotta love the little OCD rituals that kids come up with! One question for you? How on earth do you keep a hat on D's head? My girls would pull it off the second I tried putting it on them! It looks so cute on him!

Yup, our two tiny ones are really alike! Sweetsa hates being inside, especially if Mimi and Buddy are outside. Unfortunately, she's really good at making breaks for the road, so if I can't be outside, she can't either. So sad!
