Food connoisseur

D finally willingly broke through the baby food barrier and ate...pizza! We've been trying for months to transition from baby food to "table" food with very limited success. He has been eating yogurt for a long time, but since it's pretty much the same consistency as baby food, it doesn't count. His snacks don't count either - we're talking about meals here. (He does eat macaroni & cheese, but really, who wouldn't?) Whenever we eat, we put little bites of whatever we're having on his tray. He pokes them and squashes them and ultimately throws them on the floor. If one bite does miraculously make its way to his mouth, it is automatically rejected. I have been tempted to spread little morsels all over the kitchen floor since he will put anything he finds on the floor in his mouth. But I digress...he ate pizza, and two days in a row so I know it wasn't a weird fluke. He ate a good amount of it too. I guess that since he had such success with the pizza, he has been more brave about trying other things. Last night he ate kiwi, a small bit of chicken, and blueberries (I have a great picture of this coming). So it's progress for us. Hopefully he will soon realize what a joy it is to eat and we won't have to blow soap bubbles at the dinner table, or load up his tray with toys, or turn on his cell phone music, or do any of the other ridiculous things we do on a daily basis to get him to eat.
