Look how much I've grown...11 months

I will stop doing these posts as soon as the doctor's office stops giving me the cute little slip of paper with all of D's "stats" recorded on it. Here is how he measured up just weeks shy of his first birthday (we had to go to the doc early because of his ears...big surprise):

Length: 26.5" (5%)

Weight: 17 lbs 13 oz (5%)

Head circumference: 47 cm (75%)

What does it all mean? Well, he hasn't really gotten taller at all since the last appointment, so they will follow up closely on his height at his 15-month appointment; he's still a skinny buddy and the doctor made a joke about him not riding in a front-facing car seat until he's three; all the new stuff that he is learning every day has caused his brain to grow in leaps and bounds and upgrade to the 75% from the 50% (smart kid!).

Even though he's not walking or talking yet, he's doing many incredible baby things, including but not limited to: cruising on furniture, babbling, using a straw and cup and sippy, eating finger foods, having a short attention span, dancing (waving one index finger around in the air), climbing the stairs - all the way to the top, waving, clapping (he tries his best anyway), banging toys, reading books, and pushing balls (and shoes and shorts and any toy really) all around the house.

And on a final note (I didn't intend this to be so long...), we have an appointment with the ENT doctor in a few weeks. The fluid behind his eardrums is still there. Sad. So, we'll go see what the specialist says. I guess fluid behind the eardrums for four+ months means serious tube talk...

He is soooo cute, if not just a little guy still. I PRAY you don't have to deal with tubes. My nephew has had a terrible time with that and is subsequently a bit delayed with talking. Hopefully everything will check out OK at your appointment!!

hey guys! great blog! Our little one is on the tiny size, too! Sorry about the fluid...JJ ended up with tubes in his ears at 12 months, they really did help with him not getting infections. Good Luck!
