Here's one for the virtual baby book - Davis got his first cavity! Holy cow! The kid isn't even 11 months old! I noticed a couple of weeks ago what (to me) looked like a little hole in his month-old front tooth. Being the paranoid mother that I am, I promptly called the doctor. They referred me to a pediatric dentist and an appointment was set. Well, we went in today and sure enough it's a full-fledged cavity. (Sounds like D got his mom's teeth...hopefully he won't have a root canal before he's 12!) The dentist was casual enough about it all, so that eased my panicking a degree. He said that sometimes the enamel doesn't form all the way making the teeth more susceptible to "tooth bugs". So next week he is scheduled to go back and get a filling! Holy cow! He was a trooper today though and hardly cried at all, which really surprised me since he won't let Paul or me NEAR his mouth (trying to brush his teeth is loads of fun). I'm not expecting the same good behavior next week though when the drill enters the scene. Maybe there is some hope though...he went to the dentist with me the other day and sat in my lap almost fearless while they drilled away on me...Tuesday, July 18, 2006
Not-so-fun "firsts"

Oh poor little buddy....man he just got those teeth! I didn't know that they would do a filling for a baby! Hope he does well!
Holy Crap! I haven't been too worried about Liam's teeth, but now I think maybe I should be. If Liam takes after me at all (I've had too many root canals to count) he'll be following in Davis's footsteps in no time. How are they going to drill on him? I almost think they are going to need to sedate him??? I just can't imagine. Please let us know how it goes.
All of my sympathy your way Ang!
And yes, you are the winner of the "guess what's new in my blog" game :)
Heavens--- that's horrible...
I was glad to hear from you... Good luck with the brushing and flouride...
Yicks! I didn't know cavities in young babes were possible...hope the visit to the dentist is worry free! Davis is growing up so fast and he is adorable as usual! I was noticing the paint job in Davis' room (the pic of him in his crib) and it's darling...did you do it? Is it striped light and dark blue? Could it be? Love it! They are starting to build our house! We will probably be in by Christmas, maybe even Thanksgiving! It's all very exciting...anyways cute blog I love it! Later dude...Kate
Noooo way. I didn't even know that was possible! It makes me more resolate to brush my daughter's teeth; I slack on it waaaaay more than I should!
Poor little guy. :-(
For some reason when I saw this picture, it reminded me of pablo
