We also made some lovely cards for each other and our favorite friends. We used heart-shaped cookie cutters and paint. It was Lt's first experience with paint. He did a really good job painting his pants. They turned out really pretty fabulous (the cards, not the pants, but the pants were pretty good too). The boys had fun delivering their valentines and cookies.
D had a Valentine's Day party at preschool. He came home with a bag full of valentines and candy. Lots of candy. And he told me that they had red punch and cookies with lemon frosting.
We also had heart-shaped calzones for dinner. I think I made four and then I was really over it and just made regular-shaped calzones. But the little boys loved them!! And we had raspberry flavored milk (I was trying to make it pink without food coloring. It was barely pink but tasted amazing, like a melted milkshake.)
Oh, and our celebrations were extended when Nana and Papa's valentines came in the mail the day after Valentine's Day. Thank you for the Cars valentines and stickers - they were awesome (even if No-no ate his after explicit written instruction from Papa that it was not for human consumption)!
