Best birthday ever

Not only did Paul bring us all home milkshakes on his birthday, but he used his birthday monies to take us bowling and out to dinner. What a guy!! Seriously! I think it was more fun for me than my birthday was! But let me tell you, bowling + a big ol' belly = complete exhaustion. I was about to call it quits around the 6th frame. And so were the boys, because that's when their attention spans maxed out. Good thing I brought some lollipops to save the last few frames.

And I am posting a lot of bowling pictures because, well, they're cute.

Getting the snazzy bowling shoes on

I love this picture. A lot. Who knew they made such tiny bowling shoes? I don't remember D ever getting shoes when we've taken him bowling before.

Do they look stoked or what? Ha! It was Lieutenant's first time bowling, so at this point (before anything was happening) he didn't really know what was going on. (We took D bowling for the first time when he was almost Lieutenant's exact same age!)

Big brother was up first. He hauled that heavy bowling ball all the way to the lane by himself. I thought he was going to drop it and smash his foot.

And here goes Lieutenant! Cautiously pushing it down the ramp...

This picture is strictly for Lieutenant in the back (although D is cute too). Lieutenant caught on very quickly to the idea of clapping when pins got knocked down. He's mid-clap in this picture, but it either looks like he's shocked because he just got a strike or totally distraught because he got a gutter ball.

Here's a picture of D chilling on the bowling alley floor (it's the cool place to hang out) wearing his new BYU hat that he absolutely loves. Go Cougs!

Go D!

Nice job - all but two!

Waiting for the bowling balls to return was pretty much the highlight. Every single time a ball would come rolling back Lieutenant would say, "WHOA! BALL!" and sometimes even applaud. A close second in the highlight department was watching the kids next to us bowl. The boys were mesmerized (nevermind their parents' spectacular bowling going on right in front of them!).

This was probably nearing the sixth frame when they started to lose interest completely. D's probably wondering if that ball could take any longer to get to the pins.

And here is the new cool place to hang out. It was more cool than actually bowling.

And here are our final scores. You can make your own guesses about who won, just know that it was pretty much my birthday!
