Fun, new ways to contain the beast

I decided that pack'n'plays are way overrated. A sturdy laundry basket lined with a few dirty clothes (don't judge) works just as well.

Sure, it might be a tiny bit more dangerous, but well worth it nonetheless.

I know what you're thinking...why are you chuckling (how'd you know?) and taking pictures of an obviously painful situation? Well, after the third time he stuck his foot in there, I couldn't help it.

Or how about an empty diaper box? No danger there.

I'm pretty sure you can't draw bugs on the walls of your average pack'n'play either (without getting in trouble).

Fun for mom and tot! Maybe a tiny bit more fun for mom... "Where's the brown crayon?? Has anyone seen the brown crayon? How am I supposed to draw a tree without brown??"

isn't it funny how they'll do stuff like that over and over even though they end up stuck or hurt or closed in some room.....love the diaper box idea I'll have to try that one.

LOL! Doesn't he just tip those things over? In our house the kids always want to be under the basket or box, and then they crawl around saying "I'm a turtle!"

Tucker treats his diaper boxes like a soap box derby. Needless to say, they don't last very long before he has completely destroyed them. In my opinion, pack and plays aren't sturdy enough or tall enough. I would volunteer to be on the design comitee to show them how they should be built. Even a good crib is too short and weak for Tucker. That little greaser will climb out of anything. Thus the toddler bed for him! My pack and play of choice would be made of steel rebar that extends to a height of 8 feet. I'd like to see a kid get out of that one!

How funny! Well at least you know he isn't going to be scared of small spaces! I had a nephew that loved playing in laundry baskets. In a stroke of genius my sis-in-law tied a rope to the laundry basket and he dragged that basket all over the house picking up his toys for months! You look like you're such a fun mom.

Ang...you're cute. And funny. And a good mom. And do I mind that you linked to me? Heavens no! I consider that the most sincere compliment in all of blogdom...so thank you. And I say any form of containment is a good thing...well, almost any form.
