Let's go!
Once a week D and I make an outing to the library for story time. D spends 20 minutes sitting on my lap petrified with fear while periodically glaring at my good friend Julia and her cute little guy Aiden. What could possibly be scary about gentle story reading at the library you may wonder? Well, this story time is much more than just quietly reading a book or two. For the first bit of story time, a couple of dedicated thespians jump and dance all over the place while singing and clapping loudly (and telling a story of sorts at the same time). It's pretty in-your-face. Just this last week it got so rowdy with some roaring and wolf puppets that a couple of unsuspecting tots ended up in tears (good thing most of the audience was in diapers). After that first little bit, things do calm down some. An actual story is read and then there is a short puppet show that may or may not be scary, depending on the puppets. Despite the foreseeable therapy that lies ahead, we will continue to make our weekly trek to the library in hopes that D will some day clap to the music or perhaps just move a muscle while we are there. Here are some pics of us getting ready to go. D is all geared up with his big-boy shoes (which he now requests) and his rock...

LOL! Sweetsa shakes her head no every time we go to story time. She would rather wander the library than stay for the "wild and crazy story time!"
