Orlando or bust...or blowout...
Our trip to Florida can be summed up in one word - blowouts. This is a new trick Davis picked up and then mastered on our first family vacation. For some reason I thought that we had sneaked past the blowout stage and were well on our way to potty training (just kidding), but Davis I guess didn't want to miss out on this critical part of his babyhood. We are talking major blowouts too...straight up the back, with or without warning, muy fuerte, on the plane, at the beach, in the airport, at the hotel...
The trip was actually really great, much to my surprise since I was very apprehensive about taking Davis across the country. By the end of the trip I didn't want to come back home! We spent seven sunny days in Orlando (okay, there were a couple of rainy ones) so Paul could attend the Surf Expo and do some networking for ExtremeOutdoorSupply.com. Davis-wise, the flights were great going and coming back (minus the aforementioned blowouts). He did great. He didn't scream his guts out or anything; I was so thankful he was able to tolerate it! I think he had some jet lag the first day or two, but after that he did good. It didn't help that he had a cold when we left though and he had to take antbiotics the whole time we were there. What a trooper. We spent the first non-travel day recovering from the travel day and also playing some mini-golf at "The Congo". They had little alligators there! Paul and Davis beat me. The next day we went to Cocoa Beach. It was a bit colder than I would've liked, so Davis and I stayed out of the water, but Paul tried out his skimboard. It wasn't the best beach for skimming, so it wasn't as fun as it could've been for him. Paul had his convention the following day, so Davis and I hung out at our lakeside hotel (I'm trying to make it sound like a better hotel than it was...we actually tried to switch hotels as soon as we got there but they wouldn't let us!). Paul had a good time at the convention and now has a lot more work to do on his website, which is a good thing! We drove to Tampa the next day to visit Paul's Florida family (mom, aunt, siblings...). It was a fun visit and they were so excited to see us, and when I say "us" I mean Davis! It also got Paul geared up to do some genealogy work for the Latin side of the family...there is a lot to be done! On our last non-travel day in Florida we met up with my older brother Dan and his family at Disneyworld. It was good to see them since they live so far away and we hardly ever get to see them!
It looks like this Surf Expo convention is something that Paul will go to every year, so we can look forward to a little sunshine every January on the east coast...and next year I will definitely look forward to it instead of stressing about it! Who are we kidding...I will still stress about it...

Good to know that the Davis' GI tract is all up and running. Up the back is always better than up the front.
I'll have you know that your plane was kept aloft by our prayers - Becca and I new you guys were a little nervous and we petitioned diligently for your safe travel whilst humming Bet Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings". Sounds like it worked
Paul, you wouldn't know were I could buy a good skimboard would you??
Talk to you later!
Ang!
Congrats on your successful trip with Davis! I must say he is the most darling little critter to bless the earth with his presence. What a looker.
So, I hear you and the Shambaughs have been up to no good bidding on homes, ahem, next to eachother! What are you trying to do, make me turn green with jealousy? I miss Nertz, Breyers, and all things having to do with Barkers...
LOVE!
Becca
